Privacy Policy

Vyra (“Vyra,” “we,” “us”) is a location-based app that shows you people nearby without requiring a profile photo. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

Location.Vyra uses your device’s exact location, only while the app is in use, to place you on the radar and determine who is nearby in real time. We also derive a general region from your coordinates for nearby counts and notifications. Your precise coordinates are never shown to other users, and we don’t keep a location history — your position is used live and not stored as a trail over time.

Identity signals. The mood, outfit, and color you choose to display, and any name or message you send once matched.

Account information. Your email address or Apple ID, and basic device information (device type, OS version, push notification token).

Microphone and speech. If you use voice input, audio is processed for speech recognition only while you are actively using that feature. We do not record audio in the background.

Photos. Vyra does not require a profile photo. If you choose to attach media to a message, we access only the specific file you select from your photo library.

Usage and diagnostics. Crash reports and basic app performance data, used to keep Vyra reliable.

• To show you, and show you to, people nearby on the radar.
• To deliver signals, matches, and chat messages in real time.
• To send push notifications you’ve enabled — new signals, matches, and messages.
• To detect abuse and enforce our Terms & Conditions.
• To diagnose crashes and improve app performance.

• We don’t display your exact coordinates to other users — they see a signal and a rough distance.
• We don’t keep a persistent history of everywhere you’ve been.
• We don’t sell your personal data.
• We don’t require a profile photo or real name to use Vyra.

We share data only with service providers who help us run Vyra — hosting and database infrastructure, push notification delivery, and crash/error reporting — under agreements that limit their use of your data to providing that service. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of our users.

• Location access can be turned off at any time in your device settings; the radar won’t work without it.
• Notification, microphone, and photo library permissions are each optional and revocable in your device settings.
• You can edit or clear your identity (mood, outfit, name) at any time in the app.
• You can delete your account and its associated data permanently from Settings.

We keep account and message data for as long as your account is active. Deleting your account removes your profile, identity, and message history from our production systems immediately, except where retention is required for legal or safety reasons.

Vyra is not directed at anyone under 17, and we don’t knowingly collect data from anyone under that age. If you believe a minor is using Vyra, contact us and we’ll remove the account.

Your data may be processed in a country other than the one you live in. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for these transfers.

We’ll update this page if our practices change and, for material changes, notify you in the app before they take effect.
